Kids with Special Needs Take to the Skies – On Saturday, October 30, Mesquite Metro Airport hosted over 100 children and their parents for a Fly Day with free activities, food, and an opportunity to co-pilot an airplane.   The mission of Challenge Air for Kids & Friends is to build confidence and self-esteem in children and youth with special needs through the gift of flight.  Challenge Air was able to host 5 events across the country this year with Mesquite being the last one until 2022.  Area pilots donate their time, fuel, and aircraft while local organizations sponsor the event to create an environment of inclusion for these children and their families.   Special thanks to the Prestonwood Rotary Club for being a long-term partner by providing funding and volunteers for the Mesquite Fly Day!
See you in 2022!
